Announcing the official opening of the game as of today (January 5th)! This means activity checks are applicable as of today.

I've seen a few of you have already started playing and there are some great threads going on (and yes, they're all okay even if they were posted before today). I want to thank you all for taking interest in the game and participating, so far it seems like everything is running smoothly and the scenes are looking awesome.

Keep in mind that this game is based on character interaction, which means that even if you have a pre-made with storylines already set up, you can still make up new ones. Don't just stick to what's in the pre-made description, interact with as many players as you want/can.

The date in game is January 5th, and Eden is similar to New York when it comes to weather and all that jazz, so unless it's part of your character's personality I doubt they'll be wearing shorts... just something to keep in mind while you play. Basically just keep it realistic, I won't be modding weather so just try and be consistent amongst yourselves. As for the date changes, we'll start off with a weekly day change and see how that goes. Changes will be made if necessary.

Finally I just wanted to mention that I'll be putting up a contact page as well as an FAQ within the next few days, so look out for those.

hello to everyone interested in this community! in the entries below you will find a list of the available pre-made characters, as well as an application and the rules.

the game begins officially on January 5th, but feel free to apply and begin playing before then!

mostly this RPG needs dedicated players who are interested in a character oriented storyline, which revolves around interactions between players. this means being active and getting everyone involved.

feel free to contact me with any questions, either through e-mail or AIM (details in the sidebar). you can also comment on this entry and I'll get back to you ASAP. seeing as I'm a first-time mod, suggestions/criticism is also welcome as long as it's constructive!

here is a list of the pre-made characters. open indicates that the character is available. keep in mind that you don't have to stick to these, original characters are very welcome.

the numbers in [brackets] represent the approximate age of the character. once a character is chosen, the age you decide to take will be indicated.

if you would like to place a hold on a character and/or PB say so in a comment. holds are for 48 hours only. held indicates that a character is currently being held, so you can check back later on to see if the slot opens up again. for the list of taken and held PB's, go to the bottom of the page.

THE FUCK-UP: fucked_junkie sulfuric bamf [Alex Tremblay, 18] this kid goes beyond breaking rules... he slaughters them. he'll do anything and everything to piss people off, whether they're cops, teachers, or otherwise. getting trouble is like a sport he needs to practice, and he swears like it's going out of style. the crimes on his record range from theft to assault, drug possession to disrupting the peace. if it's illegal, he's probably done it. despite his hard-ass façade, what he really needs is for someone to not give up on him. he is currently under the care of the REFORMED PUNK, and his best friend is THE DRAG QUEEN. THE CRAZY can't stand him.

THE CRAZY: deaconsaw deaconjsaw [Deacon James Sawyer, 19] the demons that afflict THE CRAZY are far from tame. the origins of his frequent psychotic episodes are currently unknown, but they are most likely just as terrible as the schizophrenic hallucinations that afflict him... if not worse. His adoptive older brother is THE NAZI. He can't stand THE FUCK-UP, and he secretly has a crush on THE REFORMED PUNK.

THE REFORMED PUNK: inkd_punk inkd embry [Embry James, 25] covered in piercings and tattoos, he's no longer the teenage nightmare he used to be. by no means does this indicate that he's conformed to society... quite the opposite: his methods in helping the troubled teens in his area are often questionable. he is living with THE REFORMED WHORE, but would really like to be with THE CRAZY. he is trying his hardest to keep THE FUCK-UP out of trouble.

THE NAZI: dylansawyer dylantsawyer [Dylan T. Sawyer, 23] if you listen to the propaganda this guy spits at people's faces you might think he was the purest skinhead around. the fact of the matter is that if his gang buddies knew of his shady past hanging out in underground clubs with Rastafarians, they might not be so keen on having him as their leader. his younger adoptive brother is THE CRAZY, and he disapproves of THE PARTY MONSTER's lifestyle.

THE PARTY MONSTER: i_eat_monster jordie hart [Jordan Blake Hart, 18] kicked out of his home at the age of 16 due to his sexual orientation, he's learned to take care of himself. he works at the hottest gay bar in the city and is very open about his lifestyle. upbeat and fun to hang around, this kid is a social butterfly who makes friends and breaks hearts. best friends with THE CRAZY since they were kids, he's had a crush on him for just as long.

THE ARTIST: braydenhays braysromanticism [Brayden Hays, 20] growing up in the suburbs with rich parents surprisingly didn't turn him into a spoiled prick. now living on his own, he prefers an extremely ascetic lifestyle which, in his opinion, helps him channel all his energy into his painting. he hasn't spoken a word since the age of 7, and refuses to engage in any sexual activity. his girlfriend is THE GOLD DIGGER and his good friend is THE CRAZY.

THE GOLD-DIGGER: open [~20] she has always had an eye on THE ARTIST and his family's riches. convinced that once she can get into his pants she'll have him wrapped around her little finger, this femme fatal is a master in the art of seduction. don't be fooled, however... just because THE ARTIST is her ultimate goal, doesn't mean she has no other conquests.

THE REFORMED WHORE: camparker parkedcam [Cameron 'Cam' Renae Parker, 23] after meeting THE REFORMED PUNK, she was convinced that she too could clean up her act and go legit. she has mostly succeeded, but many say that if she were to lose her darling, her carefully reconstructed life would fall apart immediately.

THE TOM-BOY: sorrows7 shepherdlonegun [Daniela 'Danny' Delora Desmond, 22] this girl has more attitude than any boy you'll ever meet. pissed off and independent, you'll never get the last word if you challenge her. her smart mouth often gets her into fights she ends up losing, but not without spilling a little blood. she has more in common with THE FUCK-UP than she'd like to admit.

THE GODFATHER: thirteennoir unluckyjoie [Simon Milnes, 24] he may be young, but he sure knows how to run his business. he started off as a high school pusher and slowly created the biggest and most dangerous gang in the city. he can give you everything, or he can take it all away. his employees are THE PSYCHO and THE ACCOUNTANT. he is THE FUCK-UP's older brother/, but he's the only one who knows.

THE PSYCHO: jack_knifes n0bleinreason [Jack Cavanagh, 25] shooting a pleading, crying druggie in the kneecap is one of the many things THE PSYCHO takes pleasure in doing for his boss, THE GODFATHER. he sometimes takes things a little too far by settling scores that weren't asked to be settled... but he's good at cleaning up a mess, and who cares about that homeless guy anyway, right?

THE ACCOUNTANT: jeremiahpreston preston squared [Jeremiah Preston, 17] this kid is THE GODFATHER's right hand man. he keeps track of who owes what and how much without ever making a mistake. despite being a part of the city gang, he wouldn't hurt a fly... unless necessary. he believes in second (and sometimes third) chances, and doesn't enjoy the violence associated with his work. he can't stand THE PSYCHO.

THE STREET WHORE: untamed_shrew Jazlenelovesyou [Jazlene Mariya Janacek, 25] a street savvy prostitute who mother's THE FUCK-UP as best she can when the kid decides to roam the streets. unfortunately, lending a helping hand often involves sex tips and a clean syringe.

THE DRAMA KIDS: open open [~16] thus dubbed due to their implication with the high school drama club, these inseparable step-siblings grew up together in a broken home. they try to befriend THE FUCK-UP, which works depending on his mood. loyal friends, they will never let anyone down despite their separate problems.

THE HYPERACTIVE: open [~15] he has a severe case of ADHD, but his parents are hippies. needless to say that this untreated affliction only manages to get him into messy situations, due to his apparent incapability to shut the f-ck up. he's good friends with THE DRAMA KIDS.

APPLICATIONS ARE PROCESSED EVERY 48 HOURS.

before you apply, make sure you read the rules and take a look at which PBs and pre-mades are already taken.

to apply just copy the code in the little box down there and paste it in a comment or into your character journal (public entry, obviously). then all you have to do is fill it in. make sure you apply with your character journal. this is so I can verify that you've posted a bio somewhere (in a public entry or in your user info) and so I can invite you to the community once you've been accepted. DON'T request to join unless you've applied.

if your application is rejected, the reason will be stated in the reply comment. feel free to re-apply right away, but make sure the necessary corrections have been made.

Rules

Most of these rules are pretty standard... but you should read them anyway.

general:

- a lot of content may be rated NC-17. whether you're underage or not when you join is up to you, but you've been warned. we do require a minimum age of [16], however.

- bring OOC drama in, and we'll kick you out. personal problems are for personal journals, not this community.

- if you're going on hiatus, leave a comment in the hiatus thread (mod journal). you get two weeks by default, but if you need more you can ask the mod.

characters:

- any forms of questionable content are totally welcome.

- god is NOT a character in this game. so don't god-mod!

- all forms of death must be agreed to by the players involved. death of a pre-made must be mod-approved.

- icons are a must, and they have to be of your PB. keep the inspirational quotes and "I <3 boyz!" icons for your personal journals.

- write BAD BRAINS in your application. That way I know you read the rules.

- your character is NOT your PB. to reinforce this, your character is not allowed to have the same name as it's PB.

- be logical. if your character is the NAZI, he won't be doing slash without a lot of character development beforehand.

posting and comms:

- spell check!

- keep OOC in the OOC comm

- there should be no asterisk format in the logs. if asterisk format was needed due to a large chat, please try and format it to third person before posting.

- third person novel format ONLY for one-on-one chats and ALL threads.

- bi-weekly activity checks. one warning, one week to post. you'll be removed after three weeks with no answer. if you've been removed and you'd like to come back, just contact the mod.

- WHO, WHERE, WHEN must be at the top of every log, along with COMPLETE/INCOMPLETE. threads 'open to all' are allowed, and so are narratives.

- all posts MUST be friends locked within the RPG community.

- personal journals must be IC only.
